140 Years Young: Eurodam Celebrates Fourth Anniversary
July 1, 2008: Eurodam, the first of the line’s “Signature-class” of vessels, was unveiled at its naming ceremony in front of the company’s original headquarters at Wilhelminakade. Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands presided over the ceremony as Godmother. After blessing and officially naming the vessel “Eurodam,” her majesty hit the switch that sent a bottle of champagne smashing against its hull, to the delight of thousands of spectators.

Her Majesty Queen Beatrix leaves the stage following Eurodam’s naming ceremony with (from left) Micky Arison, chairman and CEO of Carnival Corporation & plc., Eurodam’s Captain Jeroen van Donselaar and Stein Kruse.
