Explorer’s Scrapbook: Chateau Frontenac

The Chateau Frontenac is one of the most recognizable buildings in Quebec City, Quebec. It’s always a highlight to see on our Fall Foliage cruises.

    Bonjour/Hello
Very nice image of this historic Quebec City hotel. And yes it is indeed a highlight of any Holland America cruise ship that visits this unique Port of Call.

I would like to add an important detail for all the readers of this Holland America Blog.
Its officially the CHATEAU FRONTENAC hotel, and is a part of the Fairmont Hotels group.

Also I must point out as an item of historical interest, that the famous ” green roof ” of this hotel is for now
bright and shiny, as they have been forced to replace the copper roof with brand new copper. Based on the information found on the following Blog, the new roof will slowly revert back to its traditional green color in a few decades time.

    Au revoir
