Westerdam Receives Warm Welcome at Fanning Island
Special thanks to Westerdam’s Manager of Onboard Marketing Astrid van de Ven for this post.
During our current 35-day voyage from Seattle to San Diego, we made a stop at Fanning Island. Paradise on earth! Not because of the blue water and beautiful palm trees, but because of the people. Young and old welcomed the Westerdam to the island with local songs and dancing. One of the eight police men on the island that I spoke to mentioned that 2/3 of the population are children and so it seemed, because everywhere we went there were children smiling, playing, posing and asking for our names. What a great experience! – Astrid van de Ven
