On March 1, ms Maasdam crew celebrated the 1st birthday of Thomas Burden, son of 3rd Officer Laura Burden and Steven Burden. Thomas’ birthday is actually on February 29, but for obvious reasons, it was celebrated on March 1.

He had a fabulous party in the Crew Mess where crewmembers from all departments dropped by to wish him a Happy Birthday. Two of the Deck Cadets even dressed up as clowns to enhance the party spirit.

Happy Birthday, Thomas! Thank you for sharing it with us all here on Maasdam.

During Maasdam’s three-day stay in Rio de Janeiro, 88 crewmembers had the opportunity to join a crew tour to Corcovado to see the amazing statue of Christ the Redeemer. Due to the amount of people, the crewmembers were split up in two groups and unfortunately only one group was able to accomplish a group photo. But everyone had a great time and enjoyed the fantastic view from up there. Goodbye Rio and we hope to visit again in the future!
