Prinsendam Crew Participate in Silent Auction for Charity

Hostess Annette Gonzalez, Cruise Director Gene Young, International Concierge Carolane Jupsin and Dorie De Jong visited the Instituto de Surdos-Mudos da Imaculada Conceição in Lisbon, Portugal, during a recent port call. They were met by Sister Ana, the director, and given an extensive tour of the daily operations, classrooms and were introduced to the students and teachers that day.

This institute accommodates 67 students between the ages of three to 30, with 25 students residing on-site Monday through Friday. These students have gross and fine motor skills activities daily and are taught sign language and speech therapy. Between the several crafts groups, guests, officers and Prinsendam staff, a grand total of $4,000 was raised for a successful Silent Auction. Enjoy these photos from the event.

Prinsendam's Grand Themed Dinners

We’ve had quite a few special themed evenings aboard the Prinsendam during the ship’s Grand Mediterranean & Black Sea Voyage. When we were in Italy we visited Venice, Sicily, Sorento and Civitavecchia (Rome), and held a special Italian themed evening in the Lido and the dining room. After that we visited Saint Raphael, France, and we held a French themed dinner. When we visited Tangier, Morocco, we held a Moroccan themed dinner.

During the Dutch Queen’s birthday we celebrated with a Dutch themed event. Crew and guests wore traditional clothing from the various countries to match the themes. Delicious traditional foods from the respective countries, prepared by our chef and kitchen brigade, was featured on the menu during each themed event. Hope you all enjoy!

Getting into the Greek Spirit

Getting into the Greek Spirit

The Prinsendam truly made their Grand Mediterranean & Black Sea Voyage one to remember. To get everyone in the spirit, a Greek themed dinner was held on the Lido deck. Guests were able to enjoy a variety of Greek entrees and desserts, while making their way over to visit Athens, Santorini and Argostoli.

There was also a very special Greek themed dinner held in the main dining room. In order to really make the event come alive, crew members dressed up in Greek costumes and greeted every guest who entered the La Fontaine dining room for an unforgettable meal.

Chef Colin prepared some delicious selections for the menu that night that included appetizers, soups, salads, main courses and desserts. This was another great themed evening. Enjoy the photos!

Prinsendam's 'Arabian Nights' Themed Dinner

Here on board the Prinsendam we held an Arabic themed “Berber and Sahara Dinner” during our port call at Tunisia for the Grand Mediterranean & Black Sea Voyage. Crew dressed up in traditional Arabic attire and guests had the opportunity to take photos with us in the tent and smoke the Hookah that was provided. The menu for the evening included some Arabian options in Arabic letters. It was another wonderful, fun evening. Enjoy the photos!

Prinsendam’s International Gala

Submitted by: Komang
Chef Colin with dining room staff.

Last night we hosted a theme event called “The International Gala Dinner” with flowers from Madeira, Portugal, in front of the La Fontaine Dining room. Crew and guests blended in with the theme with different attire from many counties including the United States, India, the Middle East, Indonesia, China, Spain, Japan and many more. We hung many International flags around the dining room area.

Guests enjoyed the event and lots of photos were taken. It was another wonderful theme during our Grand Mediterranean and Black Sea Voyage this year. Stay tuned for more photos from our themed events on board the elegant explorer, the Prinsendam. Enjoy!
