Exploring Enchanting Ephesus

Thanks to Niño L. Lagare, Eurodam‘s second electrician, for sending in this great photo from Ephesus at Kusadasi, Turkey.

The world-famous ancient Greek-Roman city of Ephesus offers a breathtaking scenery. The panorama itself will drag your imagination to the past. This is a city St. Paul once visited and wrote about in his Letter to the Ephesians.

Staff Member Inspires a Guest

Thanks to guests Don and Cheri for sending in these nice words about one of our staff members.

Travel Guide Ian Page has been on the Eurodam for two of our Transatlantics. He is a wonderful wealth of information. Not only does the preview all the ports, he waits for you as you leave the ship for last minute questions. He ends his slide show of “signs” with a quote. We found a plaque with his quote last week in Daytona Beach. Our room of “Trip Pictures” now has the plaque. Thank you Ian, and we can’t wait to go back to Lisbon for custard in Belem!  Don and Cheri Briggs

The Eurodam Dream Team

Thanks to Niño L. Lagare, Eurodam‘s second electrician, for introducing us to the ship’s basketball team. They look like they’re ready for the NBA!

I introduce Eurodam’s Engine Department Basketball Team. As we sail away from Stockholm, Sweden, everyone gathered to shape up and prepare ourselves for the upcoming Filipino Independence Day games.

A First Cruise on Eurodam

Thanks to Susie and Glenn for sending in some photos from their recent trip to Italy, Greece and Turkey aboard Eurodam.

We have recently returned from our first cruise taking in sites in Italy, Greece and Turkey. Absolutely loved it. The ms Eurodam was excellent and the staff very warm and professional. Highly recommend this cruise line to everyone. The excursions were all fantastic allowing us the opportunity to see so much and experience even more. Our favorite (if it’s possible to choose) was Ephesus. Our stewards were the best. Alim and Jono … Have taken sooooo many pictures of which I will make movie dvd’s after attending the fantastic techspert, Evan’s classes … thank you everyone for making this such a wonderful trip. Definitely not the last. Already thinking about our next … possibly an Alaskan. My pictures vary, one from breakfast on the veranda, Corfu, Greece, Kanoni, Greece with Mouse Island and the ms Eurodam in port. Thank you again for the memories. Susie and Glenn

Captain Keijer’s Westerdam Farewell

After seven successful years, Captain Henk Keijer left Westerdam in February to join Eurodam.

The crew surprised Captain Henk with an unexpected tribute honoring his service during the normal captain introductions. It began with Hotel Director Charles Verwaal giving a heartfelt speech. Soon after, the four lead vocalists sang a show-stopping rendition of Alicia Key’s “This CAPTAIN’s On Fire,” all the while over 600 crew members dressed in their formal uniforms spread across the Vista Show Lounge toasting their beloved captain.

The captain, who was overwhelmed by this huge gesture of appreciation said, “Without a doubt, the evening was a highlight in my career.”
